Where to Eat in OKC: Cafe Kacao

Cafe Kacao on Classen is delicious. One of my favorites: Guatemalan Breakfast. So I sadly discovered they do not serve the mosh oatmeal, Guatemalan oatmeal, on weekdays. You have to come on the weekend. So here's the pro tip: weekday mornings, breakfast, lunch, and weekends, you need to get on the Yelp app and get on the waiting list, because I'll tell you how sad it is to come here and not be able to get in because it's an hour-and-a-half wait. So do that.

I love their coffee. I had an Abuelita Latte today, with Mexican cocoa and oat milk, of course. It was delicious. They have a takeout window for coffee, so if you are not wanting to brave the line but need a fabulous coffee option, you can just go up to the window. Horchata Latte: a little sweet, but super fun. They also have a Nutella Latte.

So you need to come. You should probably try everything on the menu, because it's all so good. And I love their refried beans, and their fruit has a mango drizzle special sauce that's to die for. But mostly I'm obsessed with their oatmeal. So I guess I'll have to be coming back on a Saturday or maybe getting it to go, so I don't have to battle the weekend crowds. But they have been featured in all the magazines. They're on the list of Top 101 Places to Have Breakfast across the country. So it’s fully validated as delicious.

So you need to try Cafe Kacao. You need to use the pro tip with the Yelp app, and you need to tell me what you ordered, because it is all delish. I'm going to include a link to their menu online, so you can see how you need to have whatever they're offering. Their pancakes are beautiful, too, by the way. So go try it. You're going to love it and not be disappointed, I promise.
