Unboxing the iPhone 12
Today, Sophie and I will be unboxing our new iPhone 12’s. We had an iPhone 12, COVID-19 Christmas, and the iPhone 12's definitely made it better. Let's get going!
This iPhone box is significantly smaller than the previous boxes. It has a black glass backing, two cameras, and squared edges. It also includes a white paper on the front with labeled instructions on what each button does. It comes with a USB/C charging cord, but it does not come with the block. If you are interested in purchasing a block, the starting price for a block is $19.99. An informational pamphlet is included as well as an Apple sticker, SIM ejector with instructions, and a 20-watt USB-C adapter with instructions. You are able to use previous chargers instead of purchasing one, but the new one does charge faster.
We bought an OtterBox glass screen protector for our phone. It is a privacy guard edition. When you turn your screen around, no one will be able to see what is on your phone's screen due to the guard. It comes with a limited warranty, installation instructions, and an accessory kit, which includes a wet wipe. Next, we have our OtterBox commuter series phone case. The OtterBox cases can be difficult to attach to your phone, but much needed to protect your phone.
Now, we're going to set up our phone. When setting up your phone, you are going to need to have it plugged into either a computer or a normal adapter plug. Once you plug in your phone, you can power it on. While we let it power on, let's talk about the prices for the different phones. The starting prices are for an iPhone 12 is $799, an 12 Pro Max is $1,099, an iPhone 12 Pro is $999, and an iPhone 12 Mini is $699.
On the side, there's a little bar and that is the 5G mmWave antenna window. Now, we're just going to select English, United States, and Quick Start. Now the set up process has started.
It is going to say, "Setting up your phone," after it asks you to put in your password. Your phone will say, "Continue on new iPhone, and keep this phone near your new iPhone so your information can be transferred." Once the transferring process has begun, this message will appear, "Apple collects hardware identifiers from your iPhone in order to identify and activate it on our services." It may take 35 to 45 minutes, depending on how much you have on your iPhone. You will also have the option to turn on location services.
It is going to ask you to update your phone to iOS 14.3. This will take about 15 to 20 minutes depending on how much you have on your iPhone. Once you agree to the terms and conditions, you can then download iOS 14.3 over wifi. If you are switching carriers, you'll have to go to their website and activate your phone, otherwise, it will continue to say it is not activated yet.
