The Inside Scoop with Sophie - AirPod Edition
This week I decided it was time to purchase my first pair of Apple AirPods for myself. My daughter, Sophie has had a pair of AirPods for a while now. She knows all things tech and helps me out so much when it comes to the technology world; it’s too evolved for me! She was kind enough to help me unbox my new pair of AirPods, set them up for me and show me how to use them. I thought I would share her helpful tips with all of you.
Let’s start with sizing your AirPod tips accordingly to each individual ear. Your AirPods come with the medium sized tip attached and have extra small and large tips in the box. It will have you take an ear-fit-tip test to assure you have the right size in each ear. It’s not uncommon to have two different sized tips.
When setting up your AirPods, you’ll open the charging case and a notification will pop up on your phone and you will click to connect. Mine showed Lauren’s AirPods as soon as it popped up! You can change your name to whatever you would like. The next notification was for media control. Media control happens when you press and hold down on either side of the AirPod and switch between noise cancelling and transparency. Under Bluetooth in settings you will find your AirPods name and be able to adjust your noise cancelling and transparency settings for each AirPod.
The charging cable is the new version so you will need a USB type C charging block. When you plug your charging cable into the charging case an orange light will appear to show you it is charging. You can still use your AirPods when the case is charging and you can always use one at a time. When your case is open the light on the front will show you how charged your case is. You can also see on your phone what percentage your AirPods and charging case are at. I know Sophie’s tips helped me, and I hope they will help you as well!
