Texlahoma Barbecue: A Lunch Worth Repeating
It's funny how easy it is to forget about a place you really love until you go back.
That's exactly what happened with Texlahoma Barbecue.
I'd been to their Waterloo location before, but it had been a while. This week, Amy and I met there for lunch, and it reminded me why I liked it so much in the first place.
What We Ordered
Amy ordered the brisket sandwich special, and of course I had to steal a bite.
It was so good.
I ordered the smoked turkey with fried okra, and honestly, both were really good. The turkey was juicy, and the fried okra didn't even need salt, which almost never happens for me. It was one of those little things that stood out.
If you go, I'd definitely recommend trying the brisket if it's on the menu. But don't skip the turkey or the okra either.
Why I'm Sharing It
People ask me all the time where I like to eat around Oklahoma City, and I always enjoy sharing places I've actually been and would go back to.
Texlahoma is definitely one of those places.
If you're looking for a great lunch spot, meeting a friend, or just in the mood for really good barbecue, I'd put this one on your list.
Sometimes the best part of living in a community isn't anything fancy. It's finding local places you love, sharing a meal with someone you care about, and supporting the businesses that make Oklahoma City feel like home.
