Mexican Food in OKC: Chuy’s

Embarking on a Flavorful Adventure: Chuy's is now in Oklahoma City!

Picture this: a long-awaited lunch date, a new restaurant in town, and the anticipation of savoring mouthwatering dishes.

That's the tale of our recent adventure to Chuy's on Memorial in Oklahoma City. A spot we don’t get to frequent due to its presence only in Norman.

Finally, the time had come, and we found ourselves eagerly queued up, and not alone in our excitement. We showed up a little before 11 am appearing to be in the company of the 4:30 PM cafeteria crowd. We eagerly awaited our turn, our nerdy enthusiasm fueling our patience. The buzz was undeniable, as food enthusiasts like us had gathered, ready to sample the delights that had drawn us all there.

And it was worth every moment.

The service was fabulous. Our journey through the menu was as much a delight as the food itself. I opted for the 'Chuy's Changa,' a delicious treat that lived up to its tantalizing name. On the other side of the table, Clayton indulged in shrimp tacos, his penchant for healthier options leading him to explore this flavor-packed delight.

Get the Queso

As if the flavors weren't enough, the recommendation was clear: 'Get the queso, add the extra for $2.' And trust me, it was a decision that elevated the experience to new heights. The perfect accompaniment to our choices, the queso added that extra dash of fun we needed.

As for libations, I ventured into their realm of refreshments, settling on a spicy margarita with a Texas martini twist. Served in a charming shaker cup, it was an adventure in itself—a harmonious blend of heat and zest that paired seamlessly with our meals.

So here's my recommendation: seize the opportunity for those memorable lunch dates. Lock your partner in the car if you must, make spontaneous recording sessions, and capture the moments of joy that define these experiences. After all, it's in these shared adventures that life's flavors become all the more vibrant."

Whether you're a food aficionado or simply seeking a delicious adventure, Chuy's on Memorial Rd is waiting to welcome you.
