Home Buyers: What do I need for closing?

NeedforClosing-Blog TN 2 (1).jpg

Buyers, it’s almost time to close! Are you so excited? Do you know what you need to bring to closing with you? Let’s go over it.

A valid driver’s license is a must. Always check the date at least a week before closing to make sure it’s still up to date. Depending on your lender, you could need two forms of identification. Find out ahead of time from your lender if you’ll need a passport, military ID or some other form of identification.

When you bring your downpayment money or closing costs, the check cannot be a personal check. It needs to be a cashier’s check from your bank. If you have an out-of-state bank you might need to get that check ahead of time or you can have that money wired in. However, I think it takes a couple of days. If you know you’re not going to be able to go directly to your bank in person to get a cashier’s check then let’s figure out how to get that information to get the wire in time for your closing!

I hope these tips help you during closing. If you have any questions feel free to reach out.
