Where to Eat in OKC: Wheelhouse

Edit: This restaurant has closed. See more great options on the blog.

Wheelhouse Pizza Kitchen opened this summer in North OKC. It is off of May Avenue between Hefner Road. and NW 122nd Street. They have a patio with picnic tables and are doggy friendly. All the staff goes out to meet the furry guests and they have been known to bring a bowl of water.

You can buy pizza by the slice or get a whole pie. They serve 3 cheese, loaded pepperoni and loaded Italian sausage by the slice every day. Wheelhouse has a rotating calendar for the specialty pizzas that you can get by the slice. I tried the Whicked Fig Pizza tonight. It has a parmesan white sauce, caramelized onions, pears, melted brie and a fig jam splash. It was the perfect combination of salty and sweet. The caramelized onions with the fig jam drizzled across. Mmmm.

All day they have a choose two special for $6.99. You can pick a slice of pizza, a salad or tomato basil soup. I have a weakness for fancy salads and the pear gorgonzola salad with pear vinaigrette was really good. Lots of spicy pecans all over.

If you go on the Wheelhouse Pizza Kitchen website and sign up for their e-Club they will send you a coupon for a free appetizer. We had the meatballs and they were delicious.

These pizza lovers enjoyed their dinner.

Text me or email me when you give it a try. I’d love to know what you liked most.
